Franklin of Fertilizer

WHO IS FRANKLIN ?

We all say we have a “crap job”, but for Franklin of Fertilizer, it’s quite literal as he comes from a long line of dung farmers. He studied dung, his father studied dung, and even his father’s father studied dung (I guess you could say it runs in his genes). Franklin is very passionate about his work and has no problems getting his hands dirty. He is known to travel to several different lands collecting the most unique samples. He also loves bringing his droppings to town to show off and educate, whether it be on the street, by the privies, or on stage for THE POOP SHOW!

…THE POOP SHOW?

While not the official name, the often fandubbed ‘POOP SHOW’ is a staged event where Franklin uses his samples to both entertain and educate. Whether it be learning about species through their feces, Sharing extravagant tales about his more unique samples, and most important, using that time to search for an apprentice (because he could always use a good number two)  by taking two volunteers and having them compete in a series of trials in THE NUMBER TWO CHALLENGE. You’d have never thought you’d be entertained by something so odd!

WHO ON EARTH CAME UP WITH THIS?

Franklin of Fertilizer is performed by award winning renaissance festival performer and veteran immersive theater actor, Charlie Napier. He created the Franklin character as a street performer in the Carolina Renaissance Festival where he won “Best New character”. Charlie then went on to perform the character for several more years, leading to the 2021 debut of  his new show on one of the main stages as a contracted performer, putting on his 25 minute set 4 times a day for the entire season. He also performed this show for the debut season of the Arkansas Renaissance in 2024 and is now taking his show to Festivals, Schools, and Museums across the country. Based on his experience in renfairs, theme parks, and over 300 traveling murder mystery dinner theatre shows, Charlie is more than skilled at engaging in one on one street interactions with guests as well as wowing large crowds in full length stage acts with his comedy, creativity, and improv skills.
